Dr. Ajay Kumar Mahalka is an accomplished interdisciplinary scientific researcher, educator, and healthcare innovator with over 16 years of professional experience across premier institutions in France, the Netherlands, Finland, Germany, and India. Currently serving as Assistant Professor (III) at Amity University Jharkhand, Ranchi, he is actively involved in teaching BSc, BTech, and MSc courses, while also coordinating the university’s Institutional Incubation Center and leading collaborative public health initiatives.

Dr. Mahalka holds a Ph.D. in Biophysics and Biomedical Engineering from Aalto University, Finland, and an M.Sc. in Biotechnology from IIT Roorkee. His core expertise lies in synthetic biology, molecular diagnostics, clinical genetics, lipid membrane biophysics, and community health education, especially concerning hemoglobinopathies like sickle cell disease and thalassemia.

He has worked with leading global organizations including WHO, Technical University of Delft, and Institute Curie, Paris, and has over 17 publications in peer-reviewed journals with a total impact factor of 132.5, an h-index of 10, and 959 citations to date. A passionate science communicator, he has made 40+ media appearances on platforms such as Aaj Tak, ABP News, and Dutch media to promote public awareness during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Notably, he has been instrumental in building strategic collaborations with AIIMS Deoghar, ICFRE-IFP, NHM, UNICEF, and GAIL CSR, working on major health and education projects with government agencies. He has also led lab operations as Director of Antlia Lab and TakeCure Lab, overseeing NABL and ICMR processes for diagnostics.

Dr. Mahalka’s passion lies in translating complex scientific research into real-world applications that benefit society. He has received several prestigious awards and fellowships, including the Labex CelTisPhyBio Fellowship (France), SITRA Fellowship (Finland), and travel grants from FEBS, ISLS, and European Science Foundation.

Beyond academia, Dr. Mahalka actively promotes science diplomacy, youth empowerment, and Indian culture through international student events and lectures. He continues to lead with a vision of combining academic excellence, public health, and scientific innovation for social good.
